How it Works

Permanent makeup is not completely painless, but is generally a very tolerable amount of discomfort. Many clients report little to no pain and would compare it to a tweezing or threading session. Some clients even fall asleep! Topical anesthetic is applied during the procedure so the client can feel at ease while receiving the treatment.

In general, permanent makeup will always be present. The intensity of your permanent makeup fades in the course of time. However, this is completely dependent from person to person. This is partly due to the natural cell renewal, the immune system and the influence of UV light.

Healing time varies from person to person. I provide each client with aftercare package and written instructions. The treated area will begin to soften/lighten up within the first 10 days. It is HIGHLY recommended to have your touch-up appointment any time between 8-12 weeks following your original procedure.

Every Artist is different and can finish in different times. Usually a session can last anywhere from 2.5-3.5 hours so please plan accordingly.

As your skin exfoliates from sun damage it may take the pigment with it causing poor results. If clients arrive to their appointments with a sunburn or tan, We may be unable to perform the service and the client will be responsible for the full service amount. Please avoid tanning and sun exposure at least two weeks prior to your appointment and during the healing process.

Preparation Guide

PMU Eyeliner Pre-Care

Follow these guidelines to ensure optimal results, comfort, and proper healing.

To Ensure the Best Results

• No mascara or eye makeup the day of
• Remove contact lenses before appointment
• Bring sunglasses (eyes may be sensitive after)

Before Your Appointment

• No lash extensions (remove at least 4 days prior)
• No lash lifts/tints for 2 weeks
• Stop lash serums (like Latisse) 4 weeks prior
• No Botox in eye area for 2 weeks

Skin + Treatments

• Skin must be healed (no irritation, breakouts, eczema, etc.)
• No facials, peels, microneedling, or laser for 4 weeks
• Avoid tanning or sunburn (you’ll be rescheduled if burned)

24–48 Hours Before

• No alcohol or caffeine
• Avoid blood thinners (Ibuprofen, Aspirin, etc.)
• Tylenol is okay if needed

Important

• Medical clearance required if you’ve had LASIK or cataract surgery
• No workouts the day of
• You may be more sensitive during your cycle

AFTER-CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Splash eyes with water immediately after the procedure. Wash away any pigment residue. Pat gently with a clean paper towel. 
  2. Wash the skin around the eyes twice a day (AM & PM) for 10 days using a gentle soap (Cetaphil or baby shampoo). Pat dry with a clean tissue.
  3. Apply ointment 2-3 times a day for up to 7 days for thick eyeliner (EXCEPT FOR LASH LINE ENHANCEMENT) 
  4. Do not pick at the scabs or peel them off prematurely.
  5. Swelling and redness is normal for the first few days.
  6. Slight stinging sensation in the first few days is also normal. 
  7. No eye makeup until scabs completely fall off. 
  8. Avoid sweaty exercises, hot saunas, and swimming for 10 days.
