Preparation Guide

Lip Blush Pre-Care

Prep your lips properly to ensure optimal healing, color retention, and overall results.

To Get the Best Results

• Exfoliate lips 1 week before using a soft toothbrush or washcloth
• Keep lips hydrated with Vaseline or Aquaphor
• Dry lips = poor retention (treatment may be rescheduled)

Cold Sore Prevention

• Ask your physician about Valtrex or Zovirax to begin taking the day of your procedure
• You can take L-Lysine 3 days before and up to 30 days after (check with your doctor)

Avoid Before Your Appointment

• No alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before
• No working out the day of
• Avoid sun exposure or sunburn
• No blood thinners (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Niacin)
• Tylenol is okay 30 mins before

Important Notes

• Not recommended for smokers (can affect healing and color)
• Wait at least 1 month before/after lip fillers
• Avoid sun exposure for 30 days after
• Eat before your appointment (no eating for 3 hours after)

AFTER-CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. 2 hours after your session, wash your lips with an antibacterial soap. Blot dry and apply ointment given to you with a fresh q-tip. Do not wet again for the next 5 days (unless to brush teeth).
  2. No eating for 2-3 hours after your procedure. Drink through a straw for 72 hours and avoid Spicy and hot food for 5 days.
  3. Swelling is normal. Apply an ice pack with a sterile barrier.
  4. Avoid sweaty workouts for 7 days.
  5. Do not pick, peel or scratch your new enhancement. 
  6. Do not apply makeup to your lips for 7 days. 
  7. Avoid direct UV rays for 3-4 weeks to limit premature fading. 
  8. No pools, saunas or hot tubs for 2 weeks. 
  9. No kissing for 7 days and no foreign body fluids.
  10. If a cold sore appears you may apply Abreva and seek over the counter meds.
